When To Replace

DID YOU KNOW?
Replacing your mask and supplies is one of the most important steps in maintaining effective therapy! You need to replace your mask cushion/seal, tubing, filters and headgear periodically to ensure the safest and most effective therapy!

If you use the same mask for too long, you risk:

• Bacterial growth on the mask cushion and tubing
• Leaks due to worn out nasal cushions
• Redness of the skin around your nose and forehead


REPLACE CUSHIONS/SEALS WHEN…

• The cushion/seal is no longer clear and transparent
• The cushion is cracked, torn, or damaged in any way
• The headgear is stretched and needs to be tightened more than when it was new


REPLACE FILTERS WHEN…

• Respironics machines: Grey foam filters (located in the back of machine)
• Rinse the filter with clear water every two weeks and allow to dry
• CHANGE the filter EVERY 6 MONTHS


Resmed machines:

• S8 Elite machines: pale blue filter located on back left of machine under blue plastic cover. CHANGE EVERY 6 MONTHS
• S9 Elite machines: White filter (located in the back of machine under grey plastic cover. CHANGE EVERY 6 MONTHS


Fisher & Paykel machines:

• White filter located on back of machine. CHANGE EVERY 3 MONTHS
